Enrichment
An effective enrichment program can help an animal to remain mentally and physically fit. At the same time it stimulates the use of its senses and special adaptations, exploratory behavior, utilizing the environment and decision making. To develop a good, complete and effective enrichment program many species specific related questions should be asked. A profound understanding of the species, its behavior, physiology and anatomy are just a few of the factors involved when designing a program. All these different components of a complete enrichment program aid in improving the animal’s welfare when under our care.
